How adorable are those sparkly gold and black/white striped paper flags (above)? I was obsessed with the whole Paper Anniversary Co. table, from the striped baggies to the gold-glitter-filled notecards to the black and white striped canvas they covered their tables with (from fabric.com).

There were a ton of awesome prints at the fair, see some of my favorite booths above! I loved the coffee prints by Row Boat Press, the bright prints from The Poster List, and the San Francisco poster from Hero Design Studio.

I thought these shadow boxes by Lisa Swerling were amazing. The one above is called Contemplating Pink.

Besides my ring, the other jewelry that caught my eye was by Diament Jewelry, especially the delicate beaded bracelets. I was also really excited to see the glittery fringe banners by nice in person!

I was particularly smitten with the decorated globes by ImagineNations, like the “Flutter By” globe

The pottery at the fair was pretty amazing, with my faves being by Paulova, Eri Sugimoto, and Dahlhaus Studio.

And last but not least, here’s a fun painting of The Royal Tenenbaums by El Lohse.

We went to Canada for a gorgeous wedding, I’ve been busy planning my own wedding (complete with buying shoes!), we just got back from a beach vacay with the fam, I moved into a new apartment, and I’ve been hard at work writing about royal weddings and relationships on TresSugar. I was going to write all about my amazing new gray striped tray from Ikea that inspired me to write this post on CasaSugar, and is perfect for holding little knick knacks and treats like these homemade chocolate chip cookies. And then I received something much sweeter (and, may I add, much sparkly-er) than any cookies or trays . . .

An engagement ring! So excited to share with you that I’m engaged to the love of my life . . . 2011 is gonna be a great year!

I thought I’d share some of my fave polishes these days, all of which are sweet enough to complement a Valentine’s Day date outfit, don’t you think? It’s not available yet, but I saw this pretty lilac polish by Butter London on BellaSugar, called No More Waity, Katie in honor of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s upcoming big day. Two other colors I’ve been all about lately (and wearing for the last month), are Deborah Lippmann’s Prelude To Kiss, a mellow nude, and Whisper by Scotch Naturals, a non-toxic polish that’s pink perfection. What polishes have you been painting on recently?

I’m absolutely drooling over book clutches! They are so sweet and whimsical, and they combine two of my favorite things: books and fashion. I adore real books (you’ll have to drag me kicking and screaming into the world of e-books!), both reading them and having them on display. So these are just too much! While I love Michelle Williams, Marie Claire‘s cover gal for its February 2011 issue, I have to say I was more impressed with the photo essay featuring Clémence Poésy of Harry Potter and Gossip Girl fame. Not only is she strikingly beautiful, I love how the photos were styled, with sex kitten makeup and hair juxtaposed with sweet and prim sweaters, skirts, and dresses. See the spreads below!

It’s chilly here in SF! So to stay toasty, comfy, and chic I’ve been relying on soft basics with feminine details for my daily city commute. It’s a spinach soup kind of day.

I had a major flashback to my Florence study abroad days when I was perusing The Sartorialist‘s blog the other day. He snapped this photo of an accordion player in Rome (photo on left), and I swear it’s the same fella my SA roomie and I saw back in 2005! What do you think? Anyway, it totally brought me back to one of the best experiences of my life, four months of Italian art, culture, and food . . . pure heaven. See my fave pics from the trip below.

It’s been a busy last few weeks, including trips to Disneyland, Palm Desert, LA, and Vegas; lots of quality time with fam and friends; and a very sparkly birthday, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. Check out my fave pics from the holiday season after the jump. Happy 2011!

A few Christmases ago I bought a miniature silver tinsel tree, decorated it with multicolored ball ornaments, and used it to add some festive cheer to my office desk. Ever since then I’ve brought it work during the holiday season, and it never fails to brighten my day. UO still carries the exact same ornaments, and the store also carries some tiny tinsel trees if you’d like to re-create the look and/or buy the combo for a coworker or holiday gift exchange. (I bought my tree at Borders bookstore, so check there, too!)
