Renegade Craft Fair

10 Jul

I went with some friends to the Renegade Craft Fair today, and it was amazing — like a giant Etsy store! I managed to restrain myself and only bought one item from the event, this dainty Verameat gold heart ring (well, that and a delicious meal of spicy beef corndog, garlic fries, and hibiscus iced tea). See more pics from the craft fair below!

How adorable are those sparkly gold and black/white striped paper flags (above)? I was obsessed with the whole Paper Anniversary Co. table, from the striped baggies to the gold-glitter-filled notecards to the black and white striped canvas they covered their tables with (from fabric.com).

There were a ton of awesome prints at the fair, see some of my favorite booths above! I loved the coffee prints by Row Boat Press, the bright prints from The Poster List, and the San Francisco poster from Hero Design Studio.

I thought these shadow boxes by Lisa Swerling were amazing. The one above is called Contemplating Pink.

Besides my ring, the other jewelry that caught my eye was by Diament Jewelry, especially the delicate beaded bracelets. I was also really excited to see the glittery fringe banners by nice in person!

I was particularly smitten with the decorated globes by ImagineNations, like the “Flutter By” globe

The pottery at the fair was pretty amazing, with my faves being by Paulova, Eri Sugimoto, and Dahlhaus Studio.

And last but not least, here’s a fun painting of The Royal Tenenbaums by El Lohse.

I’m ALL about Etsy’s new Taste Test feature. I shared some of my favorites from the nifty tool on CasaSugar, but I thought I’d share even more with you (after all, it gave me oodles of goodies!). See them after the jump! (more…)

Confetti System Love

The Selby — theselby.com

I love, love, love the glitzy fun of the Confetti System‘s bash-worthy dressings. So when I saw photos of their studio on The Selby it made me happy — and I wanted to share the sparkly love. If my apartment could only be bathed in their shiny, pretty garlands, every day would feel like a dreamy party. It’s like jewelry for your home!

City Love For the Apartment

8 Sep

Ork Posters!

The roomie and I are pretty excited about spiffing up our apartment, and while we have some art and photos on display, I think we need something to show off our SF love. So I’ve rounded up some of my favorite city art to dress up the apartment — San Fran-style. This includes Ork’s city neighborhood poster ($27), which has been on my must-have list since before I even lived in the city. See the rest when you keep reading. (more…)

Bedroom Details

I wanted to highlight two things I incorporated into my bedroom that I gleaned from one of my favorite blogs, Apartment Therapy. The first is a creative and practical way to display my jewelry (see lamp), and the second is utilizing wine crates for bedroom storage (love!). I have loads of ideas for using wine crates in my room, but they are a little tricky to get a hold of. For now, one will have to suffice. My next AT project is a DIY framed corkboard, we’ll see how that goes!

The Perfect Planner

Posy Paper Co. Planners - amazon.com

I have a thing for planners. I love them. And in fact, I have kept all my school planners since middle school. (Maybe one day I will need to know what my math assignment was Jan. 18, 2001. OK, probably not.) So naturally, when I graduated from college I was filled with anxiety over the loss of a school-specific planner. For the first time ever, I would be on my own to find the perfect organizational booklet with all the ideal specifications – purse-sized, but not too small, weekly AND monthly calendars, enough space to write in several appointments per day, spiral-bound, inexpensive, stylish cover (obviously), and because I’m a creature of habit, academic.

The PERFECT planner, after the jump. (more…)

A Touch of Whimsy: Owl Bookends

9 Jul

owls2

This past weekend I succeeded in forcing myself to get up at the ungodly hour of 5 a.m. to venture to the swap meet in SLO with my grandpa and aunt. In addition to scoring a Simon & Garfunkel record for $1 and two super cute vintage paisley suitcases for $12, I finally found some great bookends for my Alice in Wonderland book collection - vintage brass owls sitting on books for, get this, $1. They are really heavy, and the only damage there is to them is a hole cut out the bottom of one which the guy who sold them to me said he cut himself when he was little to hide his money. True or not, the cute story worked for me, I don’t mind the hole.

**I also used an Ikea Ribba picture ledge ($9.99) to display some of my favorites.**

After the jump, check out some similar owl bookends for your own book collection. (more…)
