It’s almost the weekend and I would like to wish you all a happy Halloween!
While I’ve pretty much narrowed down my “nice” costume for tomorrow, I thought it would be fun to share some costume ideas that are little more…”naughty.” I may even wear one of my ideas to a party tonight…
After the jump, how to dress like your favorite scheming TV characters. Bonus: I tried to include budget-friendly pieces at easy-to-find stores! Read the rest of this entry »
We rented The Brothers Bloom the other night, and I loved it! Rian Johnson is the writer and director, and since he also wrote/directed Brick – another movie I’m a big fan of – I had a feeling I’d enjoy it. Then throw in some phenomenal actors, such as Rachel Weisz, Adrian Brody and Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid!), and it was difficult to screw up. But in addition to all that, I LOVED the outfits Rachel Weisz’s character, Penelope, the “eccentric heiress” wore throughout the film. I read in an interview that a lot of the clothes were Rachel’s own, and the costume designer even created a copy of her vintage black dress with a white ruffle, in reverse.
If you’re also a fan of her quirky retro style, I compiled some similar pieces after the jump! And let me know if you come across an animal print swing coat as cute as hers! I looooove it. Read the rest of this entry »
The wedding in Arizona this weekend was hot, but beautiful! I loved many, many things about it (e.g. the white sangria), but I thought I’d highlight just a few with some snapshots from the festivities. Picture This Photo Booths had a photo booth at the reception – complete with props! – and I can’t wait to see the pics up on the Web site. The gorgeous bride – Stephanie Fay (now Motte!) – was wearing glittery Kate Spade pumps that I have been lusting over for weeks. Obsessed. And I couldn’t get over the twinkle light-filled courtyard reception! So romantic!
**A thank you to Ashlyn from Carter & Cook Event Co. for the photo of Steph’s shoes!**
I’m heading out to Scottsdale, Ariz. in the next half hour, so I’ll have a lot to write about when I get back! I’m sure it’s going to be a gorgeous (fun!) wedding, since the lovely wedding photographer Stephanie Fay is the bride, and I haven’t been to Arizona since I was super little, so that’s an adventure in and of itself.
I’m borrowing Molly New York’s Sweet Olive Shift from my good friend Heather - so cute! – and my trimmed up sideswept bangs and apple red mani/pedi complete the look! (Still haven’t decided on shoes…)
It’s supposed to be pretty warm over there, quite a change from the cool temps we’ve had here this past week, so we might have to cool off at the Sugar Bowl Ice Cream Parlor, my sources say it’s the place to be!
Have a great weekend!
Really busy this week, but thought I’d take a moment to point out two lovely Anthro purchases I made this weekend. The first is a little bird candle that turns into a jewelry dish after the candle burns down. How adorable is that? The second is a sweet little grey cardi with embroidery. I love grey sweaters, and this one is so perfect for our fall temps.
It’s almost Halloween again, and one of my favorite ways to waste time in the month of October is to scour the Internet for creative, cute costume ideas.
Unfortunately (or fortunately) I came up with an idea months ago that would require hardly any effort. Since I already have a copy of the Breakfast at Tiffany’s eye mask, I figured I could throw on an oversized men’s shirt and call it a day. But THEN, I bought that adorable Milly dress, and realized I could wear that with sunglasses and my black velvet gloves (which I wore for last year’s Halloween costume), and do the typical, dressed up Holly Golightly. So my question for you is…which one should I do? Or should I do something totally different? Any ideas?
