This past weekend I succeeded in forcing myself to get up at the ungodly hour of 5 a.m. to venture to the swap meet in SLO with my grandpa and aunt. In addition to scoring a Simon & Garfunkel record for $1 and two super cute vintage paisley suitcases for $12, I finally found some great bookends for my Alice in Wonderland book collection - vintage brass owls sitting on books for, get this, $1. They are really heavy, and the only damage there is to them is a hole cut out the bottom of one which the guy who sold them to me said he cut himself when he was little to hide his money. True or not, the cute story worked for me, I don’t mind the hole.
**I also used an Ikea Ribba picture ledge ($9.99) to display some of my favorites.**
After the jump, check out some similar owl bookends for your own book collection.
These first bookends are super cute, and even though they aren’t brass, they have a very similar look to mine.
These next ones are from Barnes & Noble and are currently out of stock online, but I would check with your closest store to see if there are some available.
These brass owl bookends have a very cool golden sheen to them and are available on eBay.
This next one is kind of cheating because it’s sold out, but I absolutely love these vintage owls! They are so cute! It’s no wonder they sold the same day they were put up!

wow, really love those owl bookends. I searched all over for something like that and ended up with http://www.abodent.com/dusky-owl-bookends-duo.html which are nice, just not vintage like yours.
