Since we will be in Beverly Hills Saturday, I already have visions of Sprinkles cupcakes dancing in my head. Specifically, the Cinco de Mayo “Choco Loco” cupcakes with Belgian dark chocolate cake and bittersweet chocolate/Mexican cinnamon frosting…yum!
The only question is…do I grab a strawberry or coconut one to go?
While Sprinkles is always on my must-do list when I venture north of San Diego, I’ve also been DYING to try another mini delectable delight – a macaron at Paulette, situated mere minutes from my favorite cupcakery.

Paulette’s French macarons are too cute, in bright colors and fun flavors like passion fruit, raspberry rose, Caribbean chocolate and Sicilian pistachio. I hope they taste as good as they look! And the Paulette mini-box? Are you kidding me?? I want to plan a party just so that I can pass them out as favors.
Also on my sweet tooth radar is a frozen yogurt shop. I’m always up for trying new fun places, and sno:la - a no-plastic, eco-friendly zone, complete with recycled countertops and organic yogurt – seems right up my alley.

What really gets my taste buds tingly is that it boasts an array of seasonal fresh fruit flavors and an extensive amount of toppings. Flavors include chocolate cremita, sour cherry and dulce de leche. And if the pomegranate topping is in season, I’m a goner. Not to mention the hazelnut streusel, mango sauce and mochi!

If you are ever in Long Beach, you have to try my new favorite cupcake place, which I think is actually better than Sprinkles (gasp, I know!). It’s the Frosted Cupcakery (http://www.frostedcupcakery.com) – they have the most delicious, soft & creamy frosting, which is the one thing I don’t love as much about Sprinkles cupcakes. I’ve gotten them for baby showers, birthdays, bachelorette parties… I’m a convert.
ahhh i’m going to have to try it!!! i tried paulette macarons and it was amazing! much easier to snack on than a huge cupcake!
