As previously mentioned, here, I’m countin’ down the days till Stagecoach and trying to figure out what I’m going to wear. I will most likely wear my new Citizens shorts for the weekend because it’s going to be very warm and a dress might restrict me from dancing around and sitting cross-legged, etc. I realize I mention my shorts quite often, so this time (thanks in part to Heather, who I recently converted to the shorts side) I will highlight some OTHER cute denim shorts that would be just as great, if not better for a hot country music fest.
Right now I’m feeling roll up and cutoff shorts, but nothing so distressed that lady parts are falling out. I’m also opposed to baggy shorts that end up looking like adult diapers. As many times as I tried on “The Shorts” of the moment, Current/Elliott’s boyfriend and roll shorts, they just aren’t flattering on me….period.
The shorts I wore all last summer came from The Closet, but they looked exactly like these ones from Forever 21. They are definitely trouser-like enough to wear out at night, but casual enough to wear to the beach.

Below is another good pair from Forever 21. It’s more Stagecoach-worthy.

At Scoop in Vegas last weekend I saw these sevens and was kind of jealous that they looked like mine minus the visible lining in the front (that I’m still iffy about). However, I like the blank back pockets on my Citizens as opposed to the signature Sevens design that’s getting a bit outdated.

Speaking of visible lining…I hadn’t heard of the brand Prps before, but I actually like these cutoff shorts, even with the visible lining. I think it’s because it just makes more sense to show the lining with cutoffs – it doesn’t look right with the roll up.

What’s great about J Brand’s cuffed shorts in the dark wash is that they are nice enough to dress up for dinner (and they have blank pockets!). I could do without the whiskering.

These True Religions are a TEENY bit too short for me (especially from behind), but they would fit right in at Stagecoach, like, for instance, when Kid Rock performs.

Now here’s where Heather comes in. She scored at American Eagle with two pairs of super cute denim shorts. So cute, in fact, that I borrowed a pair last night to In Cahoots. There is a deal going on where you buy one pair get the second 50% off….um, yes please!

I have to include some Levi’s…and while I can’t vouch for how they fit, I can say these look pretty comfy.
