Dsquared² Fall 09 - style.com
OK, are you ready to follow along with me on an online denim adventure? If so, here we go…
I started on shopbop.com, where there is an interesting denim guide that includes an interview with Paige Adams-Geller, founder of Paige Denim, in which she explains how her jeans are so “booty-friendly.”
Then, thanks to shopbop.com’s blog, shoptalk, I was reunited with a great blog I had forgotten about – denimblog.com. Even better, there was a link on shoptalk to denimblog’s “denim do’s and dont’s,” a hilarious recap of all that can go horribly, horribly wrong in the world of denim, plus loads of helpful advice. I especially like that this list validates a lot of the (unsolicited) information I share with my mom, roommates, coworkers, etc. about buying jeans. Read the rest of this entry »

As previously mentioned, here, I’m countin’ down the days till Stagecoach and trying to figure out what I’m going to wear. I will most likely wear my new Citizens shorts for the weekend because it’s going to be very warm and a dress might restrict me from dancing around and sitting cross-legged, etc. I realize I mention my shorts quite often, so this time (thanks in part to Heather, who I recently converted to the shorts side) I will highlight some OTHER cute denim shorts that would be just as great, if not better for a hot country music fest. Boba drinks - wanderingchopsticks.blogspot.com
Today for lunch I tried Fusion Food and Boba Cafe in Kearny Mesa for the first time. It was also the first time I tried a boba drink…and I’m hooked!
For lunch I had spring rolls that were filled with shrimp, pork, lettuce and rice noodles. They came with a peanut dipping sauce that was really good. Next time I probably would get them without the pork…the texture wasn’t working for me. Heather ordered chicken with fried rice that put my dish to shame. The drink and food choices were practically endless (we took about 15 minutes to order). Read the rest of this entry »
Stagecoach is only a month away and I’m getting excited! Not just to see Brad, Kenny, Little Big Town, Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert, but to pick out some boot-scootin’ duds for the two-day country music fest!
It’s going to be HOT in the desert, so should I wear a sundress or my new shorts? And if I go with the latter, what top should I wear? And, do I need new cowboy boots???
First, the boots. As much as I dislike Jessica Simpson, I’ve rocked her distressed brown “Daisy” boots since I got them on sale at Nordstrom a few years back, and I LOVE them. Read the rest of this entry »
So last week a few of my girlfriends and I went to this Sassy City Chicks fashion bash event at the Hard Rock Hotel. Through Goldstar.com we were able to buy “VIP” tickets for 5 bucks each instead of 20, getting us inside the shopping extravaganza earlier than the masses.
The description of the sample sale event promised “up to 80% off designer name-brand jeans, jewelry, clothing, handbags, makeup and much more. Past designers have included Taryn Rose, Marc Jacobs, True Religion, Ella Moss, Diane von Furstenberg and more.” Also, the goodie bag was valued at $30+…I find that very hard to believe…it was pretty much filled with coupons and a pair of green lacy Fredericks of Hollywood underwear. We’ve had Bailey’s Irish Cream sitting in our fridge since December, and even though i don’t have a baking or cooking bone in my body, St. Patty’s Day got the best of me and I decided to make (from scratch) Guiness chocolate cupcakes with Bailey’s frosting. I know, who do I think I am? Read the rest of this entry »
If you ever find yourself in Morgan Hill (squeezed between Gilroy, Garlic Capital of the World, and San Jose, home of the Sharks and the Winchester Mystery House), be sure to stop by Guglielmo Winery on East Main Ave., across from Live Oak High School. Read the rest of this entry »
