The second winery we went to was highly recommended by Ryker’s mom. The winery, Mission Hill Family Estate, is located on the West Bank of the Okanagan. It was kind of drizzly while we took the tour, but it still had a beautiful view of the valley.
We took the Discovery Tour, which included a tour of the vineyards and the cellar, an explanation of the winemaking process, and a wine tasting. In the wine tasting we paired a Gouda cheese (one of my favorite not-too-hard, not-too-soft cheeses) with four wines. The first was a 2006 Select Lot Collection Sauvignon Blanc-Semillon, the second was a 2006 Reserve Pinot Noir, the third was a 2004 Select Lot Collection Syrah, and the last one was a 2005 Reserve Vidal Icewine.
Below are the videos from the tour and tasting. This tour guide was much more informative than the one from Summerhill.
